Scoring bread dough just before baking provides controlled expansion and helps with oven spring. Scoring also prevents random cracks, allows the crumb to open and the loaf to rise to its full, desired volume. We like to use both straight and curved blades for scoring.
Curved blades are ideal for creating "ears" as it can easily slip under the surface of the loaf to create a lip. Straight blades are ideal for drawing decorative designs, and also great for cutting straight lines for beginners.
Please allow 2-4 days for orders to be processed. Daily self-pickup available from 21A Lengkong Satu, Kembangan between 9am-9pm. You will receive a pickup notification once your order is ready for pickup. Please ring the door bell and say hello!
